Soaked
Yesterday was pretty boring for the most part. I woke up and people back home were having a party so I chatted with all of them over Skype for a few hours before I really got up and got on with my day. After this, I just relaxed and tried to study my macroeconomics book, but because it’s in Swedish, I didn’t get as far as I would have liked, whoops.
After dinner, I started getting ready to go out with Sarah and a few others despite the weather. However, because I was getting ready, I missed Sarah’s text saying that we’d hang out at her place instead because so many people had bailed and the weather was bad as is. I finally noticed after I had gotten all dressed up, so that was a bit of a waste - but no matter!
I left my apartment around 8 so I could stop at the grocery store to pick up something to drink and candy for Sarah, Linda, and I. It wasn’t raining too bad then, which I was thankful for, but as soon as I left the store (with 10 minutes until I was supposed to be at Sarah’s) it began POURING. Excellent. I’m glad I straightened my hair and did my makeup. It was incredibly windy to boot so I wasn’t biking anywhere too fast. After about 20 minutes, I reached the area where Sarah lived, but I was a bit lost as I forgot one of the street names so I called her up. She had no idea what street I was talking about and said to just go up the road until it curves to the right. Okay…I did this and ended up at the big shopping center outside of town…now I know I’ve gone too far. I’m completely drenched by now and I call again and she said I went too far and to come back down the hill by some tall white buildings. I go by them and don’t see her street, but I keep going.
Basically, I got lost for another 20 minutes until Sarah found me as she was walking around. I had turned right at one point instead of going to the left…typical. After I dried off and cleaned up (I had a berry in my boots that made my foot look bloody what the heck), we all just relaxed and watched random movies on tv. It was really a fun night staying inside where it was warm and Sarah’s apartment was really cute. Plus, I spoke Swedish all night, so this was a plus! I left around 1am and of course, it was super easy getting back to my apartment from there.
