Just moved in…and I’ve got a long way to go.

So I checked out of the hotel this morning after waking up at 3am and not getting back to sleep. I also was afraid I had lost my cell phone charger as my battery was dead and it’s my only alarm clock. However, after emptying all my bags, I found it in the back pocket of my laptop case. Typical.

Once I got to my apartment complex, I had to carry my 5 bags (ranging from laptop size to well over 23 kilos) up 2 flights of spiral staircases to get to my apartment. All I’ve managed to do so far is put up curtains and fix up my duvet. I have so many things I need to get (as mentioned in my last post). I’ve yet to see any of my hallmates just yet (sleeping, I assume, even though it’s 11am) but I’m wondering how surprised they’ll be to see a girl living here. I’m hoping they are somewhat cleanly (sp?) and overall good people. I kind of want to see them before I head back to town in 40 minutes because I’m meeting with Nick, Kena (another exchange student from UO), and Maria (who studied at UO last year from Uppsala). I just need to know what to buy! Groceries, a robe, a hair dryer (straightener can wait) and cleaning supplies are a must for today. I can worry about other things later.

On the plus side, I guess I don’t need a ethernet cable. I’m using some wireless signal and that seems to be working just fine for me!
